This month, the UAG really did have an adventure! A small group of us drove out to the beautiful town of Port Morien to attend an evening of Dinner Theatre at the Legion.

When we arrived, the place was hopping - people were finding their seats, visiting the bar, laughing with friends - it was just a fun place to be.  The meal was served by Branch 55 and Friends; it was a home-made roast beef dinner, complete with carrots, turnip, mashed potatoes and gravy to die for. Each of our dinners was hot and delicious.  Dessert was a tall piece of gingerbread with a dollop of cream and a drizzle of sauce. A big Thank You to the people in the kitchen and to those who served the food to each of the tables; it was a wonderful meal.

The play followed the meal - the lights went down and we sat back to enjoy "The Lone Star Love Potion", written by Michael Parker. It was an hilarious script that was well-acted. The entire room was in stitches the whole time. My heavens, but we enjoyed ourselves. Everyone did, including the cast!

So if anyone says to you, "Do you want to go to the Port Morien Legion for Dinner Theatre?" be like that lady in the commercial who screams to her husband "Start the car! Start the car!" It's a wonderful evening with great food and lots of belly laughs. We'll be there next year, same time, same place...we wouldn't miss it.

Governors on the Esplanade, Sydney This month's outing was supposed to be to Governors on the Esplanade - Governors has a wonderful reputation and we were all keen to try the menu. Unfortunately, the person who took our booking did not write it down, despite my giving her all of my personal information, along with the date and time of the booking.  So there was no room for us at the pub - what's a group of food adventurers to do on a busy Friday night in downtown Sydney? Mezza Lebanese Kitchen

           What a fun evening! A group of us met at Mezza for supper, including one member whom we hadn't seen in a while. This is a great location for a restaurant (notice Smitty's next door) with lots of excellent parking and, as you can see, it has a very welcoming exterior. There was a steady stream of customers the entire time that we were there.           When you arrive, you place your order at one end of a long counter and then walk with your dish as food is added until you get to the other end of the counter to pay. Hong Fa Restaurant

Hong Fa Restaurant 462 Prince Street, Sydney      This month UAG spent an evening at Hong Fa Restaurant - February is such a tough month what with the cost of all of our monthly bills going up and up, we decided to have a cheaper outing. This decision attracted our largest number of members yet!  There were ten of us for dinner on Friday night. And how was our cheap night?  Were we disappointed in our decision to go downtown instead of uptown?       Not at all! Although none of us spent more than twenty dollars, and that's with dessert and a tip, we each had a wonderful meal. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was not terrible, and the food, well, the food was delicious. The servings were so generous that several of us had a lovely lunch the following day.
