Mezza Lebanese Kitchen

What a fun evening! A group of us met at Mezza for supper, including one member whom we hadn't seen in a while. This is a great location for a restaurant (notice Smitty's next door) with lots of excellent parking and, as you can see, it has a very welcoming exterior. There was a steady stream of customers the entire time that we were there.
When you arrive, you place your order at one end of a long counter and then walk with your dish as food is added until you get to the other end of the counter to pay. Members ordered quite a variety of dishes - the Mezza Mixed Grill (chicken shawarma, donair meat, chicken souvlaki, hummus, house salad, garlic & pita, with a choice of rice or fries); Fire-Grilled Chicken Souvlaki (just what I said plus Greek salad, tzatziki and pita, with choice of rice or fries); and Chicken Shawarma (that with hummus, house salad, garlic sauce and pita, with choice of rice or fries) to name a couple. It was all very tasty and fresh, with little cups of exquisite sauces. The rice was plump and fluffy and the fries were delicious. And big helpings!
We ate in - it was comfortable but not fancy - but clean and bright with a background of soft music.  We could chat and hear each other even though it was busy.
The dishes did not come with water or drinks, so those were purchased separately. However, if you order the old-fashioned regular Coke, you receive a red plastic Canada 150 dinner plate! Those of us who ordered Coke Zero or Diet Coke were very jealous. I am also sad to say that tea was not offered on the menu nor were there any dessert selections. But never let it be said that members of the UAG are not adventuresome!

We simply headed to the canteen at Open Hearth Park for ice cream! That's six orders of sea salt caramel and one order of strawberry white chocolate please.

We sat on the benches by the canteen and enjoyed our ice creams while watching families with little ones visiting the playground and families with dogs on their way to the dog park and a team of bicyclists touring the park.

We saw a couple taking their elderly poodle for an outing in a stroller (the poodle rode in the stroller) and we saw a labrador wearing a pair of goggles. And yet another dog was hanging out with a red bandana on - it's all gone to the dogs at the Park!

This was a bit different for the Group but it was a lot of fun and we enjoyed ourselves. We can certainly recommend Mezza, whether you eat in or take it home with you. It was a wonderful summer evening with just a bit of a cool breeze; enough to warn us to enjoy the summer months before the next change of seasons.
